Michelin has been toying with this idea a long time. it started back in the early 90's . the design of the natulas shell gave them the idea. it is viened like that and chambered too..allows for pressure changes at diff water depths.

there is much concern over the design however... for one... damage to the "viens"...from outside sources. the tire will have to have sidewalls, otherwise, there will be no lateral support.. the one in the pic is for advertising hype, it would not work well in real driving situations.

it would be nice to eliminate blowouts for sure.......but theres much to be done before that thing will roll.

Very interesting, wonder how hard it is to mount on a rim? Definatly a preformance potential there. Definatly would need a side wall as rocks branches and stuff could easily hurt the veins. Plus mud or snow all stuck in there, that would be one heck of a wobble. Im sure they would still require a balance.
