  • Custom 2002 Trans Am NHRA Special Edition

I have been told that this is the place for Trans Am lovers who appreciate something really sweet. Here we go!

OK Custom folks, this is it! This is a one of a kind custom built TA by Eddie Landers of Landers Engineering and Eddie Landers Award Winning Custom Cars. Eddie has over 40 years experience as a master machinist and welder, and has done work for John Force and Don Garlits. He has been building custom cars for 30 years, and this is the cream of the crop! He has built around 30 custom cars and motorcycles, and is now involved in working with Bonneville speed record motorcyle work. This was built to be Eddie's personal car, so he spared no time or expense! He estimates that he has 3,000 hours into this project, and it shows!

Now for the specifics. This is a 2002 Trans Am WS6 NHRA Special Edition, the last TA, with an automatic tranny and LS1 350 motor. The catalytic convertors have been removed, and 02 simulators have been installed. The brake rotors have been custom spiral drilled by Eddie, and it sits on American Racing Torque Thrust wheels. It has a custom A-Pillar air ride gauge system, and AIM Industries Air Ride system all the way around.

The really amazing part of this car is the bodywork. The nose, side skirts and tail are all hand done by Eddie, and are 7 layers of fiberglass over a balsa core. The nose incorporates a Kawasaki Ninja fairing and headlight system, and has to be seen to be believed! Several fiberglass manufacturers offered top dollar just to make a mold of this car, but Eddie said, no, just to keep it a one off!

This is the only one of its kind, and an absolute masterpiece. It has never been raced, and was designed with performance AND reliability in mind. Lots of great photos available. I am simply representing Eddie because I'm a computer type and he isn't. You can contact me at dking@netmdc.com or by phone at 505-430-8448. Don't make the mistake of being the second caller on this car! $55,000

all that work and no work to the drivetrain, makes me think of pimp my ride. some rims, body kit, rotors, air ride...

any other pictures? how many miles are on the car? was it actually authorized by NHRA to be called NHRA special edition or is it just called that because eddie has worked for nhra drivers?
87 GTA: it's winter time, all tore apart

Eddie chose to leave the engine stock because it was actually intended to be driven, not raced. It is actually the NHRA Special Edition, and had to be ordered that way. Mileage is around 38K. I has bunches of other photos if you would like to see them. I'll try to get some more posted today.

I always love how people think the LS1 is a 350...makes me chuckle a little bit

That is definitely a custom design...good luck in any case.

You can always pick out the enthusiast from the ones that aren't, huh?

Dude, that car is hideous. You'll be lucky if that doesn't get all over the internet with people just laughing at it.
