  • Looking for Single Filter Box for Tri-Power Setup

I'm looking for a filter box similar to what can be seen in the first picture. I need it to fit an intake off of an old 389 GTO Tri-Power setup, note that the middle carb is higher than the other two. I'm 80% certain that the carbs are originals, I can get the model numbers/names next weekend. Picture of the intake and carbs can be seen in the second picture. I talked to a mechanical engineer at work, he said that he can get one of his guys to fab up what I need for "about a hundred bucks" but it might take two or three iterations to get it right, so it'll probably cost 3 times the original price.

Any tips on cleaning the carbs would be appreciated. The inside of the first carb is absolutely beautiful, havn't taken the other 3 apart yet though.

I've scoured eBay and summitracing.com but the best I've found are either solutions for other setups, or new filter boxes like in the second picture for about $50 after shipping, I think without filter elements.

It looks like what I may be looking for... but I need more pictures. I'll fire an email to Yearone, they may have more pictures. Thanks.

Summit racing just responsed stating that they know of no company that makes what I'm looking for. I don't think the Year One part is correct either Oh well, I work for an engineer company and have access to several vendors which can make it.... but the problem is that I have to take the measurements myself and I don't fully trust myself to do that correctly the first time

You should call Year One. This kind of stuff is how they got their start. I know that because the guy who started the company went to my high school. Year one is local to me and I can vouch for them.

Summit isn't going to know anything about restoration parts.

the only problem i can see is the fact that tri power wasnot avaible in 68 so any tri power ramair tray will have to be modfied to fit the confines of the f-body engine bay ie one from a gto also are you running a stock dizzi or hei as i dont think hei wil clear a tri power inlet. sorry if i sound all doom and gloom but i looked into doing this when i had my 68 with a 400 in it to which i fitted hei and to get it to fit i had to dress the firewall back
