  • C5/ZO6 brakes on an early 4th gen?

I can get a discount on stock brake parts so I was wondering if an upgrade to the C5/ZO6 braking system would be worth the money on a 95 Z28 Vert? Will doing this mod increase my stopping power a lot or will the difference be small? Also besides pads, rotors, and calipers would their be anything else I would need to buy to do this? I know slotted and cross drilled rotors are all the rage today but I would just as happy with the stock smooth look.

    Thanks for the help.

I have the C5 Front Brake Conversion done on my SS (it took me 4 hours from start to test drive) NIGHT and day difference!! You WILL notice it. MUCH MUCH more confidence when driving. The only difference between Z06 and C5 calipers are they are red. Thats it.

The MOST important part you will need to find somewhere are the Bob Bishop Brackets.

Here is the list of parts:

    10333772 / 2 / Front caliper brake hose - $19.71
    12530697 / 4 / Pad abutment guide pin - $3.44
    12530703 / 4 / Guide pin boot - $2.87

You might be able to find the brackets by going to www.frrax.com and look up trackbird. He might have a set to sell. Good luck.

Larger wheels too, right? I don't think it will fit in the 16" rims.

It is a great mod. You need a sawsall, a grinder, the GM parts & the brackets & bolts like already mentioned. And you do need the 17s.

Sorry in advance for stirring up old threads :P

Anyone have some info on a recent/reliable place to pick up the Bob Bishop Brackets ( I tried Frax but did not get any response)? I am very excited to give this a try and would like to start while the car is still garaged for the winter

From the research i have done they are no longer making Bob Bishop brackets. The only other one i have found is the LMperformance kit.

So the kit comes with everything except for the rotors for the rear? I also find this funny that this part is made by LGmotorsports and isn't on their home site.

Good price, I work at O'Reilly' s(autoparts store) so I will see how much I can get the rotors and calipers for, if I get them at a good price with my discount I will just need the brackets.

Depends, are the rotors the same size?

Even if they do the pricetag will prolly be very hefty.
