  • Electrical Trouble - Any suggestions or similar problems

    Hey everybody,

I just went and visited my car this winter, because its in storage about 100miles away from where i live, And the battery was dead so i jumped it and took it out driving this weekend because it was pretty nice. But when i jumped it and acctualy started it the head lights popped up and the whole electrical system just went crazy. the parking lights wont turn off, the windows wont work, the hatch wont pop open and the battery just runs itself dead when you park it for more than 15 minutes. has anyone else had this problem. if so could you please let me know what it is and aprox. how much it will cost. I plan on taking it to a pontiac dealership in about a month when the snow is gone to see what the problem is.

    Thanks

I'm just guessing, but could it be a bad BCM? I cannot imagine all those systems being tied together anywhere but the BCM.

    Incase you don't know....
BCM = Body Control Module... It's the computer that manages the body.

My bird had the exact same symptoms when the battery shorted internally. I had the car jump started to get home and the gauges would go crazy whenever I let the RPM go down to an idle ...had the battery checked and they sound the shorted cell put in a new battery and all is well (2yrs ago)
