  • Power mirror acting funky....

This is non-fbody, but it's a GM power mirror and they're probably all alike so I'm hoping somone can help me. We just bought an '02 Buick Rendezvous and the passenger side mirror will not move left or down. It moves up and right fine. If it was the motor I would think it would think it wouldn't work at all. The driver's side mirror works fine, so it's not the switch. Anyone know whether it's the motor or not, and if it is, how can I go about replacing it?

    Thanks!

Hmmmm...sounds like it could be either the motor or the connection to the motor. Is it still under warranty? It should be pretty close to the end, but if so let them deal with it. Should be free, right?

The used car dealer we bought it from told us the factory warranty runs out in May, so it's still under warranty. I'm just not 100% sure if/how it transfers over to us. We didn't receive any paperwork or anything like that. I've never owned a car that was new enough to actually still be under warranty! If I just take it into a dealer with proof of ownership do they have to honor the warranty?

I would think so. They can probably look up the VIN and it should show up as still being under warranty. Best thing to do is call in and see what they say.

If it's under the 3yr/36k mile warranty, then let them fix it. The warranty is on the vehicle, not who owns it. It sounds like the connection or the motor inside the mirror. I had to replace a mirror on my 1998 olds intrigue we had.

          Good Luck..
