  • Timing cover removal

I'm currently in the middle of putting in a new opti and am also replacing my timing cover seal. To remove the timing cover do I need to lower the oil pant to get it out or will I be able to do this without taking off my oil pan.

Yes, you need to lower the front of the pan to keep from ripping the pan gasket. The oil pan is made to go on after the timing cover and seals to it.
When you pull the timimg cover, you need to carefully separate the pan gasket from it.
