I found a 91 Camaro RS in great condition at a used car lot it has been there for a month at least, until a week ago when it went to a local car auction, but it didn't sell; so it's back at the lot. The dealer says that he'll sell it to me for $3000, that would have to be a deal; it has a high quality radio installed and it looks like an radio/cd/mp3 player combo, it has professional racing seats installed (they probably cost $800 by themselves), a tune port injected V8, original dash and console in good condition, the paint was an amazing color it was like a shadow (if evil was a color this would be it), the only real down side was a few scuffs in the paint on the front, nothing that couldn’t disappear after an hour or two at a body shop. It has the original miles; I think it was between 70K and 100K miles. They are in the process of a few improvements right now; if they finish them before someone buys it they may jack up the price another $1000. I have an 82 Trans am and I know the differences and similarities among the third generation f bodies; however, this camaro seemed much bigger than it should!?! My dad hates my Trans am, he can barely fit into it, but he absolutely loves this camaro. If I didn’t have my t/a I’d bet almost anything that my dad and I would have gotten that camaro immediately.

Well if the size seems different it must be an optical illustion, as all third gens are the same size give or take a few inches on seat travel over the years. One other thing is T-top cars have 3/4 of an inch more head room.

They put tuned port motors in RS cars? I thought all those got either a V6 or a 5.0 TBI. I also thought that RS cars has spoilers. It's a fin along the edge of the hatch lid.
Are you sure it is a TPI? did you look under the hood?Tracy

You are correct. The 88-92 Camaro RS's came with either the 3.1L V6 multi-port injection engine or the 5.0L V8 throttle body injection engine. Unless it's a B4C car, then it's really a 1LE Z28 in an RS body (305 or 350 TPI motor, 4 wheel disc brakes, engine oil cooler, etc., etc.). And they do have spoilers, but they are really just a 3" high "fin". Do you have the VIN number? That will tell you for sure what motor came stock in the car. RPO codes wouldn't hurt, either.Originally posted by TraceZThey put tuned port motors in RS cars? I thought all those got either a V6 or a 5.0 TBI. I also thought that RS cars has spoilers. But, it really sounds to me like the previous owner just swapped in a TPI motor.1991 Chevy Camaro RS (Is it plum or purple?)

It's gone now but it was a Z-28 and there were only two problems. The passenger side window, when rolled up, would stick out from under the t-top. The second is a
ing shame, a few days after i first posted this site someone tried to remove the racing seats. They smashed in the driver side window!
