NFB So how many people are disappointed with the new Charger?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the new "Charger" a Dodge-branded 300C with a new front clip? That's pretty much what it looks like to me. Are there any real differences between the two?

No differences, it is a re-skined 300C. To make it even better; there is a 3.5 V6 version...the ultimate family truckster Charger.

DC's quality control is so bad, as thier electrical problem, i wouldnt own one of thier cars if you gave it to me...... i'd take it...dont get me wrong..but i'd turn around and sell it.

the charger had 4 doors from the get go........they got tons of comments and ignored them all.

Their skills at putting a car in production are definitely lacking. However, they get better with each new vehicle generation. With the exception of a few body moldings, my X's '98 Concorde was pretty nice...one fifty dollar repair in 40k miles. My truck is great! I bought my Dodge from the original owner who kept all of the maintenance records. It had a faulty thermostat at about 108,000 miles. The rest is all routine maintenance. The truck, with 111k on the clock, still runs and drives like new; it does have a small oil leak, but that is it. However, it is the 3/4 ton V10 model with the Dana 60/70 axles.

I don't know, even with a little maintenance, I think the 300C is much nicer then anything Ford or GM is putting on the road. I just really wanted a real Charger, not a sedan. It is too bad that the bean counters didn't allow for a separate platform for the Charger. Oh well...I guess; maybe I can buy a new ZO6 in a few years.

As far as I am concerned Chrysler has lost it's way in the car world. The 300 doesn't appeal to me even though it is getting good reviews and does appeal to a lot of other folks. I think after the first few years of newness wears off, the general public will react the same way towards it and sales will decline. We have already discussed the Charger. All the other cars in their lineup are marginal in terms of appeal. Even the new Viper is worse than the old model. And for everyone who is a northener and has to drive in the snow, I think there will be a lot of second thoughts about those RWD cars even if they do have traction control. So the way I see it, their cars have limited market appeal to both enthusiasts as well as the Mom's and Pop's who buy a car strictly for transportation. I think the copmpany will have serious sales problems in the next few years...........just my .02

Most of their profitable sales consist of Neons/Stratus/Trucks. They were losing money on the Intrepid/Concorde/300M. I think it is nice that they are putting out something different then the same 'ol ho-hum junk GM continually puts out year after year. As far as the RWD, I grew up and still live at the base of the Rockies. When it snows, the FWD stays home and the RWDs come out...can't stand FWD in snow, but I learned to drive on snow packed roads at 7,300 ft. I would have been far more happy with the 300C over my Bonneville, but I couldn't justify the car payment with my current plans; I will get one used when the SSEI is done. If the Charger was right, I would have bought it new.

That's a sedan too. But, at least that sedan looked aggresive. One interesting side-note on that concept - it was actually built to run on compressed natural gas, not regular pump gas. Kinda interesting, but not a plus for the Charger.

Nope, but we may get a '07 LS2 sedan version of the Equinox that is badged as a Camaro...wouldn't that be neat!

I was thinking of a Monte Carlo being brought back looking like a Lumina but i realized that they did that back in '95. Maybe they'll do something cool like bring back a revamped 80's style Monte SS.

I'd also guess the GN coming back as a rear wheel drive, turbo Buick Regal but luckily that can't happen now that the Regal platform has been dropped (i loved the Regal too )

What other horror stories lie lurking in the shadows. Anyone else have any ideas?
