  • Paging JeffM

I got it today at my local hobby shop for $296.00. It came with everything including radio, pre-installed servos, engine, batteries, the whole nine yards. The shop was out of starter kits so I have to go back this friday and pick one up. I also need R/C fuel, it takes 10%.

It's my first R/C plane, so once I graduate I'll get a better one that can do areobatics.

On the box it says 20 mins to prepare and fly. My ass. It took me over an hour to get everything together in my basement, especailly since this was my first time putting one together. But it was fun!

Do you have microsoft flight simulator? If you do, run it with the view set to tower view. Practice flying it around the airport. This will get you used to thinking from the planes point of view rather than yours.

Hey, very cool. I hear they're good flyin trainers.. Check around for a local club and see if you can have someone check it out to make sure it's airworthy, and the controls are correct, etc. Nothing worse than finishing a plane and smashing it on the first flight

Also, check ebay for a cable for your radio to hook to your PC. They usually come with free simulators. They will save you money in the long run. Check for "FMS Simulator cable".

      Other than that, have fun!

Yea, the guy at hobby shop told me to ask someone when I arrive at the airfield to help me out on my first flight. I read the instruction manual and the engine manual inside out. It says I should fill it up and let it run out of gas on the first start before I fly it to break in the engine.

Yeah, your first tank of gas run it pretty rich, then after that one empties, lean it out a little more.

I just got a governor last night for my chopper. I can't wait to put it on and try it out
