I have an LT4 intake coming soon and I as I mentioned in my post below I am gathering the parts needed for the future topside builded up. The car is a 97 TA 6spd. I have 1.6 RR and 1 5/8 headers. What do you guys feel is the best approach or set of options for buidling a NA motor. I live in Cali so smog is an issue. I need some good input on a cam, heads and timing chain.

    thanks ...

You'll need LT4 heads to make use of the LT4 intake. It will not work with your LT1 heads. It will also need to be ported to see any benefit over the stock LT1 intake.

The only difference between the LT1 and LT4 intake is a bit more meat around the ports. This extra meat interferes with the valve covers on LT1 heads. But, It also makes for more room to port it out bigger and that is where you'll see the performance benefit.

yeah I know I need the LT4 heads but I was wondering if there were any recommendations on other heads or if I should get the LT4 heads and port them or aftermarket heads and port those. Just looking for opinions on possible courses of action
