    would there be any advantage to installin a ls1 rear into a lt1 car?
    1996 Trans Am WS6

    A4, 3" VForce Catback, Corvette C6 rims, Slotted and Drilled Rotors, 160*stat, BMR SFC, HPP3, B&M Shift Kit.

    I put a 2002 Z28 rear onto my 95 Formula. The only reason I wanted to do this was to go from the 2.73s to 3.42s, without having to pay the extra money for the gear install. The new rear only had 7K on it.

    I did notice that the Zexel Torsen rear looked considerably beefier than the old one. The LS1 brakes are different, so you would need to either change out the brake setup along with the rear, of keep your caliper mounting plates. You also need to be concerned about getting a rear without Traction Control, if your current car does not have it.

      thanks for the reply, but i think im gonna let this one slide, seems like too much work for such little gain.
