im thinking about picking up these things with my tax refund, is the round subframe connectors worth it, they are weld in but it is buy it now for 96 bucks and the headers are buy it now 247 with y pipe they are pacesetter, anyone know how these headers sound and their quality? are these good deals? and will i notcie a big difference in performance? what should i expect

    subframes

    headers

or should i go with a catback system??? what would i see more gains from, a set of headers, or a catback

If they are Pacesetter Shorties don't go with them. Go with their Long tube design. I have a set in the garage (Need to get some other stuff on the car taken care of first)

As for Subframes? I personally have the Kenny Brown Double Diamonds and I love them. I noticed a big difference in how the car reacts since the car is "tighter"

Good luck...and remember YOU are the expert on YOUR car.

I would stay away from those headers. Unless you never plan on swapping out your spark plugs again

I also wouldn't go cheap on susp. mods. I hear a lot of stories from people that buy cheap brands like what you just posted, and even edelbrock. Stories are that they break really easily. I'd go with BMR or Spohn. Costs 3 times as much but it's worth it.

I went with the SLP bolt on connectors. They are excellent and pretty affordable. I like the bolt on style because they are easy to install, and they can be welded in at your convenience.

The biggest noticeable improvement is the structural integrity of the car with regard to squeaks and rattles. I did mine with about 45k on the clock, and my car makes little to no noise going over rough road or bumps...well worth the money.

I don't know too much about pacesetter shorties, but i do know that if i got shorties, i would get another brand....probably slp.

As for subframe connectors, a tubed design is generally for a lowered car and is designed for better ground clearance. If your willing to spend the extra $$$, then I agree with getting good subframe connectors from a better company. Suspension is so important, and you shouldn't get something that you might just want to replace down the road.

I have slp sfc's on my car, and I love them. Easy easy easy bolt on, and it too has the diamond shape....definitely can feel a world of difference. It was also pretty cool to loose a rattle, as well as being able to jack up my car in many more places

also should i go with headers or a catback first? which one will i see better power gains from and better sound?

Find someone selling some used headers that aren't those hooker knock offs. I got Pacesetter Long Tubes off ebay with y-pipe for 150 bucks. Used.

BMR sells subframe connectors that are good qaulity and a price that won't make you bankrupt.

If you dont' have a cat-back yet, forget the headers and get that first. Magnaflow makes one that won't hurt your pocket book.

Look at the design of those headers. Getting to the plugs would probably be harder with those than it is with the stockers.

And those no brand sub frame connectors will probably break before too long. You want to buy quality stuff. There is a reason they are under 100 bucks. You get what you pay for...

Pacesetter makes very good headers. I would also go with the longtubes if it were me, then add a good catback later. It just makes sense to do it in that order. No matter what header you choose, the spark plugs on a LT1 F-body are going to be a pain to change.

I would also steer clear of "cheap" suspension/chassis components. BMR and Spohn make quality parts for f-bodies.

are you familiar with insall header cos i bet it won't be easy last time i had my header change is on s -10 and it took about 7 hours. and aftermarket header give you no access to you sprk plug so if you want to change spark plug you need to uninstall header first . but that on s-10 and i heard f-body is lot harder. unleas you have $300 for someone to install it for you,but still takeslot of hours.

I heard mac headers give you the best spark plug access. Really affordable header too, but they come with that crappy header coating.

i talked to the guys at ramchargers, he said that those pacesetter headers are no good. to go with hookers, what did you mean hooker knock offs? you just said you bought pacesetters long tubes for your car, that is what these are?? and i think i am goign with bmr subframes bolt on then get it spot welded, and for the headers i think i want to go with hooker long tubes and offroad y-pipe that takes place of the cat. biggest power gains, 464 at ramchargers, anyone get a better price somewehre else?
