I decided the T/A needed a change of shoes. My Borbets are in need of some restoration and one of the SZ50s picked up a nail, so I swapped some chrome 10 spokes courtesy of an 02 SS. I'm trying the Goodyear GSD3s on the rear to see how well they hook. Also added the airbags in the rear coils for better resistance to bottoming out. So far, no scrapes rubs, nada. The car handles and rides great.

yeah i gotta say those other rims you had on there were a lot sharper. I love them and I never see them, which makes them all the better.

I have those same tires. They seem to handle and hook pretty well. The tires look a bit odd how the wheel is recessed a bit into the tire. I guess its to protect the wheel. Cool looking tread though!

Nope. Can't seem to part with them. They are my favorite set, just in need of a restoration.

Just put the SS's on the back and the Borbets on the front. Double da bling! Looks good, man! I like the Borbets better too, but the SS rims look awesome on there too. I guess you could "settle" for those while your Borbets get some TLC.

While comparing both pictures, I came to the decision that those Borbets really set your car off. I love those rims joe, the SS's are of course awesome, but the other ones are just so unique and beautiful.

Hopefully one day the stockers will come off for me

I'm still trying to dial in the suspension. I cranked up the pressure of the airbags, that brought up the rear about a 1/2 inch. The first time I hit it with the GSD3s, I was all over the place. They felt pretty greasy. I did a few launches and was unimpressed....... easily putting down long strips of new rubber. I continued to put another 60 miles or so on them, did a quick tun the tires burnout and launched. Much better. The breakaway is still quick. So far the new GSD3s don't quite hook as well as as a new SZ50EP, But I think they do hook a little better than a 60% tread SZ50ep. That was my beef with the Firestones...... Brand new they hook great, but once the tread starts to wear, the grip goes away at the same rate. By the time the tire is 70% worn, they don't hook. These new Goodyears are a little fatter in appearance too. The SZ50s always looked a little smallish for the same size tire as other manufacturer's tires. The new tread pattern looks cool as well.

I have to try a few other wheel and tire combos too. I have so many different sets I've picked up over the years. I'm really curious as to how well it's going to hook with the new big and littles.

How about compared to the KDW tires? Have you upgraded the rear sway bar yet? If not, that might help you out as well.
