Think i might have gotten ahead of myself?

i found a set of LS1 knuckles for my camaro. I want to upgrade my brakes and THOUGHT it would be alot easier and look better if i get LS1 knuckles instead of cutting my knuckles. I was looking at BAER brakes for an upgrade. I want to get either the Track or GT+ packages. The question is if i get the BAER brakes for an LT1 will the brackets bolt up to the stock location of LS1 knuckles or do i still need to cut the knuckles up?

.......And I want great braking and totally hate my brakes to no end, what kit would be better track $750 or GT+ for $1100

I would go with the wilwood 6 piston kit. Its $1200 through LMPerformance which is one of our sponsors. If my mind serves me right i believe there is little cutting with the LS1 spindles but not as much as the LT1 cars.

Ok good lookin out, but will it fit with 17 in Torque Thrusts? and why the he double hockey sticks is this kit alittle bit more expensive then the 2 piston kit from BAER?

I was actually thinking about getting the Wilwood 6 piston calipers but a few guys on cz28.com said they're "track only" brakes. I don't know how true this is, but they claim that they have no dust seals.
"They do need a rebuild every other year or so, according to Wilwood, but this can be avoided by properly cleaning your brake components everytime you change your pads. They don't have dust seals. But when is the last time you checked your dust seals? Don't be surprised if they're ripped."

However, everyone says they make your car stop like nothing else

I looked into those brakes a little bit more and at summit racing it says they come with "seals." I am not sure if that means dust seals but I would assume that is what they meant. These brakes are put on everything from the newer Cadillacs to WRX's (aftermarket of course, and mainly for cosmetic purposes on the caddy). And not to say that it isn't true but i have never heard that they need a rebuild. I only researched it for about 30-45 minutes but all the forums I read said nothing of any special maintenance but said how awesome they were and how long pad life was.

Put it this way.... I was thinking of doing the C5 brake upgrade but for $1200 I will have a set on their way to my house as soon as i get done installing a new flywheel and gears in my T/A. Just can't beat 6 pistons!

I don't know if that's the same kit, but supposedly, they don't come with dust seals because the high temps would melt them quickly.
But, you're right as far as using them on the street. As far as those who claim they are track only...don't actually have them. Those who love them are the ones who've had them for some time. So I guess I'd trust those who have them...

About the dust seals
I called wilwood about this and they said that their brake kit is maybe for really really high temps. these twmp would melt any dust seal. he insured me that there would be no problem as long as i take normal car of them

Just for regular maintance my wheels are off every couple months or so... I just spray thenm down with some brake cleaner, but really, they look very very clean with out doing that...

i also sencond not using the "E" or "D" pads, i special orders mine with the "Q" pads
"Q" pads are ceramic, are better for medium heat (witch you will have on the street) and are a no dust, no noise pad.
I love these and the literally produce alomst no dust
