I NEVER get tired of seeing those kinds of things. Makes feel like there is something to defend. Everytime I see those types of pictures (the "my daddy, my hero") I get all choked up. Its nice to see that there are people who support us and U.S.

Thanks Wolf for puttin that up.

I don't have a kid, so I guess the "my daddy, my hero" one doesn't affect me like it would the mom's and dad's on this board.

The one that choked me up was the guy kissing the ground.

                My son is back

The primary driver of our black 93 Z is back after 7 months in country. Half of his Marine company went to one location and half to another. His group returned first and the rest will come out of country this next week and be home around the 21st of March. We are having a homecoming celebration for both groups.

They first touched US soil around 3 AM in Newfoundland. The locals, including many veterans were there to greet the plane. They opened up the resturant and the bar for our boys.

We must not forget that not only are the people who make the trip effected but the families undergo a lot of changes as well. Phone calls in the middle of the night, letters that take two weeks to get there and such. We soon learned to turn the TV off because of the networks were telling the truth about conditions over there.

For the rest of us, imagine not even seeing a real toilet for eight months; imagine not knowing if a mortar or rocket is going to come tearing through your shelter in the middle of the night; imagine huddling together, eating the goodies sent from home and watching a movie in your tent; imagine ordering a #3 and #4 value meal from a Hardee's trailer in Kuwait and eating them both. Now you begin to see what it was and continues to be like for our troops.

                Tom
