    oh, i haven't raced since 9/02

funny you ask about the noise regs....they were quite strict about them. they said that the mufflers cannot be straight through or glasspacks, blah blah blah and hafta be chambered just like you said...no cutouts either...

the local residents really screwed things up around there...the track was there before the developments. hey honey, let's buy a house next to a race track and then complain about the noise

The "neighbors" have big $$$$, and they don't live in the same town as the track (they're across the border into the next town) so they could care less if all that tax revenue was lost by Old Bridge Twp.

I think 3 years ago, they required mufflers. I had a Borla XR1 hanging on each collector. The tech guy asked if I had mufflers, leaned undere the car, looked at them and came up shaking his head. I raced.

Next year, they added the requirement that the exhaust system had to end past the rear seam of the driver's side door. I went to Mufflex and Denny added some 3" pipes with turndowns. I pulled the car through tech on the trailer and they never even made me start it or looked at any part of it. I raced.

Now they added the "chambered mufflers" thing, and if they looked under the car, it wouldn't pass. I'm not going to invest more money in the d@mn exhaust. I have a Radio Shack noise meter, but I never bothered to find a large open parking lot, so I could rev the engine to 5,500rpm, hold it there, and measure the noise level at 100-ft.

yeah...i know they have loot...they don't care about the track or Old Bridge....I don't care about them either, lol...

I know it's a pain to hafta keep going through changes just to make them happy...so i hear you. that's the one thing I like about Island...seems the residents that are around don't seem to mind the noise - at least i never hear about the complaints.

anyway, didn't mean to hjack the thread...

BOT I hope my Edel cam doesn't suck, lol
