  • Good Brake Pads?

I need some new pads, and I'm just going to replace both the front and rear. Just wanted to know your guys' opinions on what pads have been good to you. Also, if you could, please let me know where you ordered them from.

I have stock calipers and rotors as well.

    Thanks

I will chime in for a nod for dealer OEM, not even Delco. Especially for the rear...I tried Raybestos once and took them back after a couple months they made so much noise. They also they had a smaller sweep on the rotor.

Just a note I upgraded my front brakes to the 98+ LS1 setup and is leaps and bounds better than the tiny LT1 setup.

Hawk Pads...I tried Raybestos...didn't like them either. No complaints from Hawk though.

"BLUE 9012 (Medium/High torque) brake compound - Race compound pads with low pad and rotor wear with good brake modulation. Road racing, Auto-x and Rally applications where low to mid temperature effectiveness is critical.
All Hawk pads are compatible with factory brakes & A.B.S. systems."

Horrible thing is that i just copied and pasted that, but I can't remember what site I was just at . I just did a google search and found a site with a description.

I wound up ordering hawk pads. That's what I was pretty much leaning towards, but I always appreciate the input of the fellow f-bod members on a product before I purchase it.

          Thanks for the replies guys

I'll eventually make that upgrade as well....more likely than not before the year is over. I'm just so occupied with all my other bills right now that sadly some things will have to remain towards the bottom of the list

I like The Raybestos ceramic pads. Also I got a good deal on drilled and slotted rotors from JC Whitney $60. each made in Canada. Earls SS hoses from Jeg's $115.
