  • Battery disconnect ?? for Injuneer please!!!!

    Is there an AMP minimum[or some other rating] for a disconnect switch for battery relocation.

    I ask this because I want to be on the safe side,I use my car every day and sometimes make trips of 5-6 hours non stop.

    I just want to be sure that the switch I get can take continuous juice for hours on end without heating problems.

    Not sure it is an isue but prefer being on the safe side!!!

        What kind of switch? You mean the one you are required to have in the back, per NHRA rules? I think that there are only a couple choices... The Flaming River heavy duty disconnect ($60) is rated 250-amps continuous, and 2,500-amps for 5-seconds. The Moroso heavy duty switch ($60) is 300amps coninuous, 2,000-amps intermitent. The Moroso "standard" switch ($30) is 20-amps. JEGs and Summit have switches for $20, but they don't quote the rating. I'd guess you want the heavy duty ones.... that's what I would choose (out of ignorance). But I don't know if the cheaper ones would be satisfactory. 20-amps seems awful low, when the fuel pump alone can pull up to 10 amps.
