  • MAP Sensor failure

I was wondering if anyone knew what causes it to fail...I put a new one in last week, and it just died on me a few minutes ago. Before i go shell out more $$$, I'd liek to know what the common causes are so that I can address that issue fiist...

    Thanks!

The MAP sensors are extremely durable, and unlikely to fail.... mine has survived huge nitrous backfires...

The most common cause it a faulty connector. The green wiring harness connector dries out and crumbles, making intermittent contact. Check the connector before you buy another sensor.

I hit it with a little silicone spray, blew it out with a little air and dabbed some dialetric grease on it...the SES light hasn't come back on yet, so hopefully, that was it

        thanks!
