After about 15 minutes of driving on the highway, I pulled off onto the service road, stopped at a light, and took off. When my car shifted into 2nd, it felt like I had a really harsh shift kit, same with 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th. But it's a really harsh 1st to 2nd. Has anybody had this before. I think I heard of some kind of technical service bulletin, something about a control valve body. Anybody know anything about this?

Mine did that once. I fired it up, the shifts were brutally hard so I shut it off, restarted and the problem was never seen again. if the problem is consistant, have the trans looked at. The line pressure could have gone sky high, the electronic control circuits could have a problem, etc. Unless you are an ace mechanic, you'll need to take it to a trans shop.

Yeah. Probably a pressure control issue..... it could be electronic, but it could also be a hung valve in the valvebody or something.......Run some "Lubeguard" through it before you bring it in. It is pretty consistent, I can almost count on it happening if I drive on the highway for a while. When I get off the highway I brace my self and get ready. It even shifts so hard that I can sometimes get a 3rd gear scatch if I have the traction control off. But when I let it sit for a little bit and cool off, it returns to normal shifting. So I don't know, I guess I'll try that additive. If that doesn't work, in to the shop it goes.
