I thought that would be a great commuter car for me, but hard with my 4yr old. This car and the Solstice should do really well if they don't scrap them.

I've thought about a Lotus Elise, but the price for the stateside version is a bit hefty. This might just fit the bill as a commuter car.

Now it would be real sweet if they put in the DOHC straight six thats in the Envoy in that little two seater.

The lotus elise is a pretty unique car IMO. I came across a good writeup on it here actually.

That saturn and the solstice would be a nice "cruiser" option for someone who doesn't have too much money, but wants a fun daily driver.

I really dig that car. You would think they could put something a little more stout other than a 2.4L 170hp motor though.

True. But since when do people like us leave things alone? A little added pressure could do wonders.

They're actually gonna be making that car about 5 minutes away from my house.

It would be nice to see that thing with atleast the supercharged 2.0 from the cobalt.

Now you are speaking my language!

Apparently the LE5 2.4 Ecotec has a forged crank, forged rods, and oil squirters under the pistons. So it would seem apt to handle more boost, but I have been trying to do a search for which type of piston the LE5 uses, but so far all I have found is just that it is supposed to be a "heavy duty" aluminum piston with a polymer coating on the crown and skirts. Also from what I can see, the static compression ratio appears to be 10.5:1! That probably will limit how much you overdrive the Eaton without running into problems. I wonder why GM chose to go with such a high compression ration?

That car is slick looking. Almost 10K cheaper than an s2k too. I like how GM likes to think the ecotec is the "SBC of generation x."
