  • ?? for Injuneer,Joe1320,P.Norman,Shoebox !!!!

Looked everywhere in the car formula lists I have and cant find a formula for HP gain VS CFM flow increase.
There must be a formula to calculate this, say going from 230 CFM at .500 lift to a twisted wedge head that flows 260CFM at .500 lift?
At the moment I have 352 rwhp, what could I expect as a HP increase.
I know there are variables, but a ballpark figure would be appreciated.
LT4 Hot Cam now stock lifters and worked LT1 heads / Same cam with 1.6 RR on TFS twisted Wedge[not many around] heads with 2.00 valves.

There's a formula/table included in the "LT1/LT4 head flow comparo" that allows you to estimate the maximum HP capability of a head, based on its flow curve. Of course, that's the "max", and what you actually get out of it is going to depend on how well the cam and the rest of the "system" can support the flow.

      WOW !!!!!!!

It's all greek to me I got lost at 1.68 * 2000[what is the *2000] then that is divided by 43[350/8=43] which = RPMs???

From comparing the 230 to the 260 potential Hp figure would 62 be about right?

Even 40 would be good I guess?

      P.S.// Thank you,I didn't have that page!!!!

The complicated formula is to determine RPM for peak HP. You just needed the one for "potential HP", and your number is calculated correctly. I would think you would use maybe 80% of that number, to allow for the fact that that is a sort of "ideal" number. That would predict about a 50HP increase. Gets you a "ball park" number.
