Is it possible to program an in dash cd player to operate the factory 12 disc changer in the back? I bought a factory cd player and replaced the tape deck but it will not operate the cd changer, so out it came. I want to run both.

Yes it is possible but only after a certain year. I want to say that only the 2000 and up model cd players can control both. I would have to recheck exactly what year it is but i do know it can be done.1997 6-spd WS6 Trans Am -

I did not know that the factory in-dash CD player does not work with the 12 disk changer on "older" 4th gens. I have a stock 95 cassette player, and I did not have any problems just plugging in a 12 disk changer. It just worked.
