  • stock t/a a4 vs subaru wrx?

    SUBARU IMPREZA GC 2.0 TURBO
    1994,4 x 1,7cm3 = 3390,5 cm3
    280hp at 5500rpm
    373 Nm at 4000 rpm
    DOHC, 16V ; 4 cyl boxer
    4x4
    1330 kg

    This is a rally team's impreza that I have to race against (legal races, 1km long)
    I have a stock t/a a4 93

    What do you think the outcome will be? imprezza ir rally prepped, an entire team working on it, anyway I dont think they know what theyre doing, and I m not sure my t/a is 100%

    95 Formula A4 2.73s >>>>93 t/a 3.23 , !AIR, !cat, !A/C, hotchkis lowering springs, kyb adj shocks, DD

      better go at it from a role dude.

      SFC( not sure what kind), drilled/slotted rotors, K&N air filter, all free mods, 3" Borla cat back exaust, electric exaust cut out, NGK spark plugs, royal purple motor oil, and Zaino .Maybe more. I find more stuff done to it everytime I look at it.

        Just a straight drag race for 1KM???

          Your going to be killed very quickly. He's/she's going to be launching at around 5-7k RPM's with basically no tire spin. Rolling start will make you look like less of a snale vs that thing. They are monsters! Minor tweak and they are in the low 12's. Considering that your stock, maybe high 13's. Good luck though, just hope they blow something lol.

              Well 1K is aprox 3/5 (.62) of a mile so you might be able to get him on the high end. A rally car might not be geared for top end since alot of what they do is turns through tight winding roads and such. Also one problem with AWD cars to is they lose a lot more power to the drive train than an FR so that's a plus for you. He's about 500 lbs (227 Kilos) lighter than you too so that's something to think about. In the quarter mile he'd most likely kill you but when racing for over twice that distance it may be an interesting race. If there's no money on it I'd say do it just for the fun of it. If you lose at least you got to see a Bad A$$ Impreza run and since you are running a street car against a race prepped one nobody's gonna rag on you much. Let us know if you race. Maybe even get a Vid if possible....Good Luck!

                I raced a WRX from stand still...whipped me good. Those things lanch like hell and keep digging...but after 60 or so, you'll start to catch up if. Then again...he was stock.

                  The race will probably be this summer, july maybe, and I ll get someone take photos and videotape the whole thing.
                  Well, the t/a didn t lose a race apart the one whe an injector wasnt working, after I fixed that it whopped a** so I can say it was the fastest car in town. A month after I left they organized a race and the subaru won, second was an opel calibra turbo (2.5 liter turbo, 250 hp + I think), third a mazda mx 5 2.5 v6, 170 hp. They said it was pretty close between the subaru and the calibra wich I beat pretty easy ( went faster at start, but I didnt bother trying not to spin the wheels ) and the mazda I used to beat almost every night
                  Thing is I would really like to beat that ugly thing and the stupid rally team, the subaru always breaks down when races (I mean in the rally races).
                  I might even do some mods if I have to, but nothing major. What do you think?

                    Offer to race him down the runway 10 times. His car is bound to break something major after all those launches. Your car will withstand it no problem.

                            Just get the typical bolt-ons, its something but your looking at internals and some "DAMN" good drag radials or slicks to keep up with that AWD.

                              Raced 03 WRX 6months ago stage 2 vinstu or something...
                              guy said he would put 5 lenghts on me by 120mph. i beat him $100 he wouldn't...we went at it from a dead still he staid with me up to 70mph and then i put 3 lenghts on him. he didn't pay up becasue he said he missed a 3rd gear shift. i called cow patty and told him to line em up again but he refused. i'll race anyone i don't mind loosing to faster cars. i just hate big mouths. i've lost to every Z06 and supercharged 03 cobra i've raced. no big deal they should smoke me i just like to make them prove it do it for the fun of it. no shame in loosing to someone thats faster and that should spank you
