I'm on the last bit of my lease on an '02 WRX. My $.02 - at 1Km. you're gonna be hard pressed to catch a good launch. Don't know if the Rexer you're racing is anything other than stock, but with a 7K redline mine pulls. It's fun to surprise 'stang drivers at lights who think the WRX isn't quick off the line.

      ok, I get it

i just want to win, no point doing it for fun, they re a bunch of arrogant ***holes
They always abandon or finish last( almost every time gearbox problems, maybe because of the fat dude driving it )in the rally championship and the car I think is a stock 2000ish sti modified , lots of money in it , the guy has a big company that includes a big garage with his own rally team. I know for a fact its not the factory wrx, but its got lots of money in it.

What mods would you reccomend, something for a stock 90k engine?
      ( speed density, a4, 3.23)

If I win , a whole rally team will get spanked up and I ll have my peace of mind

A modded STI... Sorry, he's gonna win really big. Remember that you are stock. Money is going to take the race. Plus that thing is probably gutted down to the dash. Although I do wonder how bad the AWD loss will suffer after about a quarter mile. Bottom line, he's gonna leave you far behind. It wouldn't be a fair race.

If it's really an all out rally car setup for a specific venue, it might top out pretty quick. R&T got data from a rally team a while back and the WRX topped out at about 116 mph, which was just before the 1/4 mile mark. Here's the a graph to see the acceleration curve: http://s94938520.onlinehome.us/pictu...tion_small.jpg

Although it does top out at a very low MPH, I would think you need quite a bit to catch up to a high 11 second car.
