Coolant on flywheel?

    Coolant on flywheel?

    I am changing the oil pan gasket, and when I removed the aluminum cover behind the engine I had a few drops of coolant come down. Any ideas where this could be coming from? Pleeeease don't say it is a head gasket. There was no coolant in the oil, and no oil in the coolant. No white smoke, or smell of coolant burning.

    could it be the lines going to the heater core? Maybe ???

      could also be the coolant transfer tube/fittings on the backside of the heads.

        Most likey a core plug on the back of the block...

          Yes, if its coming down INSIDE the inspection cover, on the flywheel then its most likely one of the plugs in the back of the motor behind the flywheel. You'll have to pull the tranny and flywheel to get at it. Put a pressure tester on the radiator and shine a light up behind the flywheel....see if thats it.

            I had the same problem with mine man and now I wish it was a freeze plug. It turned out to be the back corner of the intake manifold. I hope for your sake it's the freeze plug though.

            SFC( not sure what kind), drilled/slotted rotors, K&N air filter, all free mods, 3" Borla cat back exaust, electric exaust cut out, NGK spark plugs, royal purple motor oil, and Zaino .Maybe more. I find more stuff done to it everytime I look at it.

              His car is a LT1, and therefore has no coolant passages in the intake manifold.
