  • Broken Exhaust stud 93 LT1

Ok. well i have a broken exhaust stud. and its getting worse. Of course its the driver side rear one, with the least amount of clearance. I was wondering what is the easiest way of fixing it. I do have my own shop and lift. so taking the motor out is no prob. Im just wondering what the difference is in time. Pulling the motor or pulling the intake and heads.

    Question about pulling motor
.. If i pull the motor can i drop the engine, front member and the trans at once? or is there an easier way? Also is anything known to wear in the engine at 100k miles?

    Thanks.

if the exhaust stud is protruding from the head still, you can soak it in some penetrating oil and try some vise grips first. if that is not an option i would definately pull the head cause there is no need to pull the engine, unless you got plans to do some other engine work that requires the engine to be pulled.
