  • Preventive Maintenance

I wan't to do some preventive maintenance here. Is there something you can buy that will cover up the distributor (optispark), so when the next time my water pump fails it doesn't kill my optispark a few more miles down the road?

The way I understand it, the water pump has a weep hole in the bottom of it that allows coolant to escape when it fails. It just happens that the optispark is right underneath it. You can attach a small diameter tube to the weep hole and route it away from the optispark so the coolant will not fall on the opti. I'm sure others here can give you some more details on it.
