  • I need to vent!!!

I have been troubleshooting a miss since about a week after my opti install. So I try some easy things, and then decide to swap out the plugs and wires. Now that is bad enough on our cars, but I get the darn alternator off, and see that a bracket on the bottom of it is not connected to anything. Well that's strange. So I start to look around and low and behold the front header stud by #2 is gone, MIA, seeya, outtahere. WTF??? Then I find the AIR tube into the header is loose in its fitting. OMFG!! What else am I gonna find in here? So now I have to wonder about the header gasket, replace the bolt, and seal up the AIR. Not to mention the darn plug wires on the passenger side are hard as rocks to get at.

I love my car, don't get me wrong, but this sucks!!!

How about the #7 wire? That's the one on the driver's side closest to the firewall. . . . I still haven't figured out how to get that one out! It has this metal bracket that holds the wire against the motor. How do you get that bracket off so you can get the wire out? Do you go from under the car or what???

Yes, under the car. Loosen the bolt holding the rear of the shield (shield mounting hole is slotted in the rear) and completely remove the front one. You can then slide the shield out from the rear bolt and fish the whole thing out. Put the new wire in and reverse procedure.
