  • So I was changing my oil.....

I changed my oil today and aside from having to wrestle with the drain plug everything went smoothly. I decided since I was under there I might as well check the lubrication at all of the points. I was looking at my swaybar and saw that it still had a sticker on it. I thought "wow, my swaybar's pretty new. I looked it over from one side to the other and saw that the passenger endlink was loose. About 2 in of play in the bushing/a-arm. I look at the other side and there's no bushing . I take a closer look and there's no bolt for the bushing to connect to. The bolt for the endlink had broken off about halfway down.
I've never changed these things before. Do I have to keep weight off of the weels or can I just put it up on ramps? Any other tips that could help me out? I'd rather not spend my entire birthday under my car. I'd rather be driving it.

Just buy two new end links and bolt em on while on ramps, the sway bar has alot of movment and if the wheels are even you can just push it up and the bolts will be long enough to do up. Then just tighten it all up. I say do both, as if one broke the other aint far off. Just as a side not my 89 formula has the tags still and they are original.

Energy Suspension sells a kit that includes higher grade end link bolts, spacer sleeves and new polyurethane bushings and washers. A good upgrade and probably no more expensive than a dealer is going to charge you for the stock pieces.
