  • air foil any good?

    guys after i started cleaning my tb i was thinking if i should re-install the tpis Air foil on it again. or should i just get rid of it. it came on the car when i purchased it. any benifits to having it doubt it.....

    Leave it on, it is godd for a few HP.
    It certainly will not hurt, I think anyone who has LT1 bolt-ons has this on their engine.

      Unless you are supercharged you're not going to see any differance but hey if its free it can't hurt too much.

          nope. only if you got turbos or a SC..otherwise...nada.

            Yep, as you can see on ws6.com they gained an average of over 5 HP under the curve with just the addition of the airfoil. I have seen even more especially with headers and full exhaust already done.

            It really shines with a built larger cube motor, and of course a power adder.

            Most aftermarket TB's have a type of "airfoil" machined into the body of the TB.

              Would buying a 52 mm throttle body do any good, because i just have a stock one w/ an airfoil on it. Seemed to idle smoother, other than that i noticed no difference.

                Fred could probably give you a more concise answer on a larger throttle body, but suffice to say, unless you're going to be putting out well above 500HP, it's not needed.
