-Should i go with a 3.73 or a 4.10? Ive heard the 4.10 is a little too short. What brand do you recommend?

    - What kind of Trq.C. should i be looking for? Brand?

Vigilante 2800 and 3.23 gears. Perfect combo for slightly modded cars. Easily .5 second with that converter. Don't forget to use drag radials to plant the newly found torque the converter gives

Anything higher won't show much until more serious mods come into play. Plus gas mileage suffers with lower(higher numberically) gears.

Actually most people report better gas mileage up to a 3.73 - 3.90 (12 bolt) gear ratio. I got better gas mileage in town with my 4.10's and just slightly less on the highway(maybe 1-2 MPG), but it was well worth it!

Additionally more gear will wake up even a bone stock car. You don't need any mods whatsoever to benefit from the advantages of the addtional torque multiplication that a numercially higher gear will give you.

On an LT1, usually anything under a 3400 stall will be plenty steetable.

Wow... with the exception of FastTA it looks like 3.73. Thanks for your time.

I've got 3.73s and can attest to the increase in acceleration. It really wakes up 3rd gear. Stock, LT-1 automatics tend to die off a little in 3rd. The 3.73 gear really makes 3rd gear come alive! It's better in low end acceleration too. Not as much as you might expect, but noticeable. Couple gears with a 2800 stall speed converter and you'll be smiling. You'll still have decent drivability as well.
