The photo has to be located on an Internet server, not on your PC. You get the full address (url) for the photo, and embed the address in your signature between the UBB codes for an image: [img]address..... [\img]. Change the "\" to a "/" when you type it.... I just had to use another character so the commands would show up.

For use in a signature, the photo should not appear more than an inch or so tall. Limit the height to 150 pixels.

An examaple from one of my photos:

Again, change that last "\" to a "/", or it wont' work.

If you need a picture hosting site (a place to store your pictures to use with the WWW). I use photobucket.com. Once you have your sig ready, upload it to photobucket, then right click it to copy the address location.

Then just drop it in here at F-Body in your User CP options.

As was mentioned, the photo must exist somewhere on the web and a hot link is used to bring the picture to your signature. Many just use a web photo hosting service such as: http://reg.imageshack.us/register.php

Once you register, download photos and get the link codes, you post them in your signature using the appropriate tags that Fred mentioned.
Taking the below address and adding the [img] and [/img] tags turns it from a link into a hot linked picture.
