transmission mount

hi everyone,

i am in the process of replacing the transmission mount on my 1989 firebird 2.8 V-6, auto.
i just purchased the new mount from napa. i put the new mount on the transmission, then i tried to put the crossmember back on and the holes dont line up on the frame. any technical help would be GREAT.

Sounds obvious, but I would check to make sure its the same mount as the old one. If it is, sometimes they just need to be "persuaded". Grab a line up punch, lady's foot prybar, or a big phillips and shove it through the crossmember and into the bolt holes in the frame. Pry the two together while putting a bolt into one of the other holes. Essentially, you have to force the holes to line up. If the holes are way off, you have the wrong part or its installed backwards, upside down. etc...

or shove it through the crossmember and into the mount (whichever you are trying to do)
