  • Times with my A4 set up compared to my M6 set up!!

    Best #s before Sunday were.

    60ft=1.78

    1/8=7.98

    1/4=12.398

    MPH=114.3

    New times Sunday

    60ft=1.658

    1/8=7.84

    1/4=12.29

    MPH=111.9

    Still have some fine tuning to do,wondering why my 60ft and 1/8 improvements aren't making it to the 1/4 mile numbers.With the 1/8 mile time should nearly be touching 11.s if it carried through.

    Have an appointment at ZEKE'S tuesday for the 1.6 R.R. install,we will make a dyno run afterwards to see if we are missing the shiftpoints.

    It doesn't feel to bad A4,nice and smooth not violent.That means I need more HP!!!

    Could be due to the lack of converter lockup. Locking the converter in 2nd is worth typically 2 mph in the quarter. How long it lives is another matter. BTW, that 1.84 1/8 mile had to flatten your eyeballs. That's top fuel territory.

      It is more important to me for it to have a long life and trouble free.

      It is a manual lockup so it stays off the whole way,wonder if putting it in OD[past the 1/8] would change anything?

          Lockup is diasabled at WOT to prolong clutch life. In previous years, we would run a switch and manually lock the solenoid from the diagnostic port. It was shown to consistantly recover the losses seen once the car is hooked and rolling. I am not sure about the ability to use a manual switch with our 4L60e, but the program could be altered to have it done automatically. The downside is increased converter clutch wear.

            Every case where people have used lockup[that I have seen]ended in premature tranny BOOM !!!
