    OMG Service engine soon #@&*

    Driving down the road around 30mph, no hot rodding and the SES light came on for ten seconds and then went off. I replaced the O2's several weeks ago and the EGR valve 2 years ago. And of course 95 codes are hard to retreive.
    Any suggestions.
    1995 Z28 Convertible, 350ci LT1 73K miles M6.
    Dyno results: 301.5 RWHP 326.7 RWTQ
    Performance Mods 4.10 gears, AS&M CAI, MADZ28 tune, Borla catback, RK Sport mid-length headers, LT4 valve springs, CC pro mag 1.6 RR's, LT4 KM, MSD OVC wires, TB bypass, 160 t-stat, SLP clutch plate w/Kevlar dual friction disk, 52MM TB, TB air foil, 1LE aluminum driveshaft, ASP UD pulley, LS1 brakes w/ Hawk HPS pads, LCA's and PHB.

    It could be several dozen things. The only way you'll know is to scan it.

      or forget about it. sometimes you get a emissions "burp", especially when the warm weather hits.... happend to me more than once with obdII.. never came back... didnt even bother reading the code...

        There are reasonably priced scanners from AutoXray and Actron for the OBD-I cars, and they can both provide the bastard connector for the 16-pin OBD-II style ALDL on the 95's. Actron has been clearing out one of their older models for about 1/3 of original cost. Just be careful no one tries to sell you the $30 cheapie that simply shorts the pins.

        There are also FREE downloadable software packages for scanning.... e.g. TTS DataMaster and FreeScan.... all you need is the correct cable to connect your laptop and the cable is $50-100 from AKM Electronics.
