  • 2 tire pressure labels on door?

I don't know if this has been posted before, but I just noticed 2 different recommended tire pressure labels on the door. One says 30 psi, and the other (the one with the GVWR) says 35 psi. Why would they do this...or is the first label not from the factory?

The pressures on the (label under the) GVWR label are for "normal" driving. The second label on mine clearly indicates that 35psi is for "high speed usage". I guess this means if you are going to test the 149+ MPH rating of the "Z" rated tires, you need to have 35psi in them.

As always thanks for the clarification Fred I don't think I'd be testing the 149 mph rating anytime soon!

I was wondering the same thing. Thanks Fred. I thought it was there for the normal pressure rating for all cars with the Z-rated tire option...glad I found out otherwise lol

the speed rated tires also have a load index. sometimes thats printed on the lable as well. ie: LI 87 which means... the tire is rated at that top speed (what ever the speed rating is) with 87% of the max load on the tire or less... if you exceed 87%, the speed rating goes down...

so dont do 149mph with 6 people in the car........

Ummmmm, do me a favor...go sit in the Firehawk and tell me how in the freakin' world you can get 6 people to get in there lol

I mean, I suppose you could cram 2 dead bodies in the back somehow, but do they count as people? lol

LOL, I have a "list" of people I'd love to stick in the fetal position at 149 mph on a road with a few bumps
