I am actually going to look into this. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on an LS2 if the price is right!

There may have been only 2 cars that "tipped" over, but at an estimated 15-20 MPH with a 2 mile long train, every single one of those GTO's took some force. And considering that they strap them down like an F5 tornado is gonna come sweep them away, there's no telling what kind of hidden damage there could be. Every car will have to be inspected thoroughly, and some will probably have to be measured on a frame machine to make sure they weren't "tweaked". It will be a lot more than 40 that were damaged when it's all said and done.

                They're toast...

I can tell you from first hand experience (FOMOCO) that any vehicle involved in that type of incident, even if it looks PERFECT!, gets crushed. The liability (thank you, you ambulance chasing bas***ds!!!!) is too great. They won't even part them out. If one part ends up on a car that kills someone, they are toast. What a great country, 'eh? OK, fire away, I'll get off my box now.... (flame proof suit on..)

yes, thanks guys, saw this on the ls2gto forum day before yesterday.. terrible. couple of guys there had cars on that train headed towards their dealers. they are a info on them.......

buildout for 05 is only going to be 13,000 anyway....

still.....ill never be as rare as old 139 was...my CompTA... 1 of 47 built in 97..

of course, the LS2 in this goat helps me forget about that "rare" thing real quick... LOL

Don't you think that the insurance companies will sell the remains to auto salvage yards to recover some of their loss? If so, there would be some awesome LT1 to LS2 conversions happening in F-body land . . . . .

wonder how hard it would be to drop a LS2 in my formula. That would be sweet!

They get crushed. Same thing happened last year. Happens more than people know and they all end up getting crushed or donated to work shops that can never be driven on the road.

exactly. under DOT regs, they cannot see public use.
