  • 67 firebird conv 327 tires & wheels

What are the biggest tires and wheel I can fit on a stock firebird... I heard 245/45/17 in the front with 8" rim and 275/45/17 with a 9.5" rim in the rear...

Those seam big. And Also I have drum brakes still when I convert over to disc will that change something...

    Thanks

275s will fit in the rear as long as the tire isn't too tall. I managed to run 275/60s with only minor interferance against the fender lip using the stock rallaye wheels. You should have no problem as long as you use the proper offset/backspace wheels. I've seen 315s on the rear and it's a real tight fit. The suspension must be worked a little to avoid contacting the fenders on a hard suspension compression. Changing to disk brakes may or may not change anything..... if anything it would change the required offset of the wheels to compensate for moving the wheel mounting surface in or outward.
