  • Need some help with ZO6 brake conversion.

    http://www.lmperformance.com/3055/2.html

I have done several searches on many different boards and I have gotten so many different answers I don't know what to think. What is exactly needed to install this kit? I have read everything from people saying you need to change to LS1 spindles and LS1 steering knuckles to some people saying the kit just bolts right up. Could someone please help me out here and try to clear this up?

    Thanks

for a 95, you do not need LS1 spindles (or named knuckles) for ZO6 brakes, you modify (cut) your current spindles to be able to bolt up a custom made caliper mounting bracket to your wheel hub bolts. This custom bracket will have to be sourced separately, I am not who is making them now, or if they are even being made now?? The ZO6 caliper abrutment (sp?) bracket mounts to the custom bracket and the caliper mounts onto this. Again for a 95, you will either need the ZO6 (or C5 for that matter) or aftermarket stainless braided brake hoses to give you enough slack if you don't want to modify the hard lines (LT1 hoses are too short).

Finding the bracket is the hardest part of this mod.....oh and you will need 17" rims to run these brakes......hope this helps.
