I have a formula 350 with a 700r4 tranny. Before my rebuild and some minor modifications, the car used to murder the tires in first, pull its hardest in second, Drive was nothing to brag about, then I had to pray the race was over before OD. Now first is still the same, second gear is really nothing special, but drive pulls harder than 2nd used to. I was just wondering which gear everyone elses AT seem to pull hardest in.

Question for AT guys
1999 Ram Air Trans Am. M6
SFC( not sure what kind), drilled/slotted rotors, K&N air filter, all free mods, 3" Borla cat back exaust, electric exaust cut out, NGK spark plugs, royal purple motor oil, and Zaino .Maybe more. I find more stuff done to it everytime I look at it.Tags: None

My Z28 is a complete freak. It's mostly stock but it looses traction between all shifts and even gives that "serpentine belt screech" between shifts. It pulls hard through every gear and starts to loose some rate of acceleration in 4th gear overdrive. I'm sure I'm gonna need a rebuilt pretty soon, but I do know from experience that a rebuilt tranny is only as good as the fingers that put it together. I've had some rebuilt trannies that don't shift well at all or seemed to slow the car down. I've had better luck finding a low-mile tranny at a junkyard and swapping it out. . . .

As for me, I haven't had a chance to really open her up through gears. I still have stock 2.73's out back, meaning that I shift out of first at about 54 mph, and I'm not even sure about 2nd....usually at that point it's a little too fast for the streetI will say though, my car pulls really hard after I shift out of first and am starting in 2nd....that's when I've pulled on quite a few respectable cars.
Man, I need to go to the track ASAP!black 95 t/a, a4, beefed up tranny w/ higher stall converter, transgo shift kit, trans temp gauge, trans cooler, richmond 3.73's, loudmouth, hypertech programmer, 160 thermo, descreened maf, TB bypass and airfoil, trick flow intake elbow, underdrive pulleys, moroso cai, edelbrock panhard rod, bmr stb, slp sfc's, fiberglass firehawk hood, hawk pads, taylor wires, ngk plugs, royal purple fluids,...and hopefully more to come

My buddy who works at a chevy dealership was telling me about this the other day. It wound up being some band in the trans (wish i knew more, but I'm not the best with transmissions)...supposedly a pretty easy fix.
