  • Good site for understanding engines

    http://auto.howstuffworks.com/engine.htm
This isn't for veterans who understand everything about motors, but for many like myself this is a great start. A few years back I could wrench on an engine but didn't understand a whole lot about how they worked. This is a great way to get some knowledege on them, and atleast for me really helped me to understand whats going on and that helps so much in diagnosing a problem. Also it has information on forced induction and about everything else you'd want to know. If your just getting into working on cars and have the time to sit down and read through it this may give you a good headstart.

Howstuffworks.com has been teaching me various things for years now. I also suggest looking up how differentials work....simply amazing.

How stuff works is some good stuff
