  • I'm on EBay

Well... my car is anyway. I haven't resorted to selling my body just yet

Time to move on ... but selling the car will help me buy a house, so that's a good thing.

I swear here we go again! First Steve then Nightrage! Now you!

Man don't sell that TA. You'll be sorry! I'm telling you. Don't sell something you truly enjoy. Now I know you enjoy that car.

You said you self not long ago that it won't be long till you have it paid for then you can buy yourself a house.

Keep the TA and enjoy it and life! You will be miserable. You better listen to me before you make a big mistake. I know I have been there and done that already.

I'm not trying to make you mad! and I hope you don't feel that way!

    Have a goodone, Lee!

If you have to sell to buy a house, thats the smart thing to do. Its much harder to get ahead if youre renting. Then, after that first big tax return go put a down payment on another one!

Agreed. Selling the car to buy a house is a good idea.

In 1998 I sold my 1995 Ultra-Z to build a duplex. I owed $9,000 on it at the time and needed to eliminate the debt so I would qualify for the construction loan. I used some leftover cash from the deal to buy a 1988 Iroc. Now I had no more car loan, and an older less expensive car.

I lived there, with that Iroc for 5 years. I wanted to sell it and buy another 4th gen, but then the chance to build another duplex came about. So, I built the duplex I live in today in late 2003. Now I have 3 renters and a 1994 droptop that is paid for as well as a daily driver that is also paid for.

If you want to be successful and get a good start in life save your credit for houses and buy your cars with cash. Eventually you will be in a position to buy a car on credit again, and at that point it can be something really nice, like a brand new Z06.

Yep, we're all on the same bandwidth

I am buying a 3 bedroom house and I will have 2 people renting the other rooms. I work for a mortgage company so I have a great rate on a 5 year interest only ARM, and their rent will almost equal the monthly payment!

I'll use the money from the sale of the car to furnish the house - update any appliances, etc... but I'm expecting $10K from the sale, and I don't think I'll need to use it all. So, with practically no housing payment, only $150 a month car payment, and all utility bills being divided between 3 guys... a downpayment for a Corvette should add up pretty quickly.

You didn't mention before that you were going to have people renting. In that case yes I would sell the car!

Man, I hate to hear about anybody selling an F-body, but I have to say that buying a house is the most important thing I have ever done. Good luck, stay on the board, and get back into whatever moves you man. If you want to go vette, well, there's worse choices... I hope this is not a trend :-)!!!!

I agree. A house is an extremely good investment. As much as I hate seeing someone selling their f-body, this one is well worth it.
Good luck on your new house

Sad to see such nice car go up for auction, but houses appreciate in value over time...

I have to say, I love the shifter knob that you have in that car...

I found a house that I really like today... Just north of 8 Mile Road, right off Woodward.

The street is so nice... lots of well-kept vintage 1920s home with trees and flowers everywhere.

I'll go see it probably some time next wekk and I'll keep you guys updated on the progress
