The guy with the high bid right now is also bidding on two other WS6s right now. Obviously that means he is serious about buying, but is that a bad sign? Is he obligated on my car now that it has hit reserve?

Have the other two hit reserve? If not, I wouldnt sweat it yet.

And yes, his bid is supposed to be a contract to buy, but good luck making good on that if he backs out. You have no real recourse.
