can anyone tell me the difference betwwen a manual brake mc and a power brake mc?
I am converting my camaro to manual brakes to make room for the BB.
I plan on using a master cylinder out of an s10 I know they have the same 24mm bore as the camaro. Both power and manual s10mc's are this same size
is there a diff. ?and what is it?

I'm confused. You're converting your brakes TO manual, but you need to make room for BB? I'm guessing you mean you're converting to power.

As I understand it, you just need the booster. It typically goes between your master cylinder and the firewall and uses vacuum from the engine to operate. Sometimes the rod that pushes the piston in the MC is not the same size as the rod that is used to push in the piston in the booster, so you may need to extend it.

(all the BS I wrote is from my limited experience in converting drum to dics one time)

there are several way to get "power" brakes. most common are the vacum booster. ie the 6,7,8,9 inch black drums between the firewall and mc, the other is hydraulic, and runs off the power streering pump . this is found on 3/4 ton and heavier vehicles to provide more presser on the brakes with the same or less pedal effort. all 1 ton have them and the hd 3/4 ton will have them the light duty will have the vacum boosted brakes. the are the same length and narrower than the mc, the lines arent cheap 80$ a peice dealer item.

the other is completely aftermarket and is the samethine but uses and electric motor for the hyd presure

as mount it on a bbc just change the brakect and the right tool to pull that pulley off. the tool is bout 20$ and ccan be rented from the auot zone and the like

No, I am converting from power brakes to manual brakes to make room for a big block. It is a pretty tight fit. I cant get to spark plugs or anything around the rear of motor on that side.

As long as the bore and stroke are the same you will be OK. Eliminating the brake booster will gain you some more room, but you could always go with a remote mount MC if space was that tight.

Oh, BB = big block, i thought BB meant brake booster.
