  • need info on cams

looking to buy a cam. Want for daily driven car and race on weekends. All I hear about is hot cam, I know theirs more than that out there!

Well the LT4 is not too radical for daily driving I'm not sure which way you want to go, more or less performance than the HOT cam. There are plenty out there but the LT4 HOT cam is pretty popular and proven cam for the street and track. Others have can give you more details of other cams.
You might want to get the Extreme duty timing chain while your modifying.

LT4KM, 160' TS, MAF ends, TB-BP, GMPP 1.6 R/R, SLP CAI, LCA, Adj. tierod, BMR tower brace, 17x9"F/R, 275/40R17 GY F1 tires. WS6 Muffler, LS1 DS. 21mm rear sway bar. Soon to be LT4 heads, intake, & HOT cam

Im running the LT4 hotcam. Nice street manners and the car pulls HARD from 3500 to 6800 RPM. Im running a set of ported LT4 heads and intake to match though.

Want to know something funny? Considering the genesis of the nameplate "Camaro" he did in fact spell it correctly. When they were trying to name the car, the name was chosen from the word for "friend" in a foreign language... I was told French (I speak some French, but admittedly, I have never heard that word used for "friend", oh well). The correct spelling in that language was in fact with an "E" -- the designer originally screwed up... that is why it has always been with an "A".

That is a similar story to the SR-71 Blackbird. When it originally was made, it was called the RS-71 but the president called it the SR-71 in the unveiling so they changed the name instead of correcting the president.
