drove the gto down to the gym in Fredericksburg today. awesome day. sunny, high 68. its around 22 miles from house, requires 19 miles of interstate 95 then a short jaunt to the gym off the rt. 3 exit.
i left the gym after my workout about the same time as a dude i know slightly, that lives here in stafford .
never talked to him about cars on the gym floor... just shot the usual "hiya dude..hows it" type stuff.....
anyway...he has a red monte carlo SS, nice an clean. saw him get in it and leave as i was leaving.. he was in front of me. stayed in front of me on rt. 3 and onto the exit to get on to I95... saw him "eyeing" me in his review mirror......
it was around 2pm when we were merging onto the interstate, and traffic was really sparse.. i saw the "tell tale" puff from his exhaust when we left the on ramp to merge...so i just stayed behind him... well... the "stuff" was flying out of his pipes.. he was floored and getting it.... so i stayed in third... he hit he middle lane..and i hit the far left and went by him like a fox on roller skates........took her to 6k on the tach... he was toast sitting back in the middle lane.... dern "upper speed warning buzzer" was killing my ears...LOL.
i decelled and slipped into the middle lane and just held at 72mph... (65mp highway).
right before we got to the stafford exit..he passed me... then...on the off ramp...he kept it slow... we merged on to the main drag in Stafford and up to a red light...he quickly got over in the left lane , i stayed in the right...we stopped side by side. he lowered his passenger window and said "d#mn man, i thought those had the same v6 in them that i have".....
i said "it's a six man........ six liter........ LS2 400 hp V8......., surprise"
he laughed and gave me the thumbs up as the light changed. we drove home.
cant wait to see him in the gym this weekend.... bet we talk cars! LOL (and zaino of course... cause his ride was nice..but could be nicer... i could tell ........i know things about non zainoed cars
