According to the magizines(and we all know they cant drive) the say that the new gt's if there drivin right will get them to run high to mid 13's. Ive never seen one run yet or raced one. Im sure someone on here can tell ya but thats what I heard.

I test drove a stick a few months back. They are quick... very quick, but didn't feel quite as fast as the LS1. It didn't seem to pull after shifting into third like my T/A does. Of course, I wasn't exactly dumping the clutch and launching the car with the dealer sitting next to me, but I thought I got the jist of it theless. Still pretty impressive, but not for the 1,500 to 2,000 over sticker they are getting right now at most dealers around the country.

If he has no mods on it, I see no reason a modded LT1 couldn't take it in the 1/4. Again... I was only on a test drive.

I drove one about 2 months ago and I was fairly impressed. It has decent power but handles kinda dicey. Seemed to have bad body roll. With the traction control off, it spins the tires really easy in both 1st and 2nd. I am not crazy at all about the interior. Fugly to say the least.

I've also seen a few run here at the track. They were both standard transmissions and they were running pretty consistent high 13's at 103-104ish. They seemed to be hooking pretty well too. SA Raceway is a very well maintained track.

You should easily walk him with your mods.

you should have no problem if you have good traction !!
i raced on the street and took him by 1 1/2 lengths....
oh and i didn't hook up that weel. he had exhaust + DR's + cold air...

Well I just got back from running into town to grab a bite to eat. On the way back I saw 3 2005 Mustang GT's. 2 Red and 1 Yellow. I quickly noticed that something was very different about these GT's. I pulled into the dealership because I wanted to see these up close.

They were the Roush Edition GT's. I gotta say man....these things look pretty damn sweet compared to a regular GT. The ground effects and rear spoiler look bad a$$. The 20" chrome racing wheels look bad a$$ as well. The seats were two tone red/black leather with the Jack Roush signature on the upright. The Roush stripe package really sets the car off as well.

Apparently there are no performance modifications. At least that were listed on the dealer sticker. So I guess it still has the so so 300 hp 4.6L.

I'll try to swing by and get a few pics tomorrow and post them. I was impressed considering it was a Ford.

you have to remember the Mustang got 300 hp in 2005. Pontiac got 305 out of the f-body 9 years ago. The Mustang is just now the equivilant of a pre-LS1 f-body. Theoretically they should be good for mid 13s to low 14s depending on driver, launch, and weather conditions. Any LS1 or slightly modded LT1 fbody shouldn't have any problem with a stock '05 GT.
