From one old guy to another.........the only other thing I would urge you to think about is job security. With the government you have it and can work until your 65. If you go into private industry and for whatever reason you lose your job, you may not be able to get another one easily and may also have difficulty getting one that pays the same. There are just too many of us wise and older folks
out there these days that this happens to. Just wanted to mention it for what it's worth.
